Richard Christie, 6th-grade educator at Prairie Lane Elementary, attended our PL training day and took away his own creative vision for implementing flexible learning spaces into his classroom. In this episode, Mr. Christie shares his flexible space model and more importantly notes the academic benefits that came along with this shift. Student agency increased, so did his students’ productivity, his framework for classroom management shifted, and each student’s ability to effectively write and revise during ELA time improved – and it all started with a subtle shift in the way Mr. Christie thought about the furniture in his classroom.
